Joaquín Amenábar is “one of the few living masters of the bandoneón”, a rare combination of master musician who can talk the language of social dancers. Joaquín is professor of bandoneón at the Buenos Aires’ Higher Conservatory of Music; at the University of Buenos Aires’ Lopez Buchardo National Conservatory; and at the Avellaneda School of Folk Music. He is a gifted composer and arranger, undertakes concert performances and is the director of the tango orchestra “Orquesta Típica de la Guardia Vieja”.
