Hi everyone

The date for the annual Gardel awards has been finalised so mark it in your diaries now.

We will be holding the awards milonga on March 1st at the Twisted Hop on a Sunday afternoon. Starting probably at 3pm and going until 7pm. Entry cost will cover a selection of delicious finger foods served during the afternoon. Dinner will be served downstairs from 7pm. We will need to establish numbers for both the nibbles and the dinner but we can wait until later in February to do this - no panic yet!

So for all those who still have a Gardel tucked away in their display cabinets [you know who you are!] get them dusted and polished and handed in to either Carol or Henry.

There is still time to make a dramatic bid for a Gardel of course – Henry and I will be keeping our eyes on the dance floor. Categories this year will be similar to last year with awards for best choreography, most promising new dancer, costume and the prestigious lifetime achievement award of course. There will also be some interesting new categories this year!!

Twisted Hop Sunday afternoons will be continuing in 2009. Alternate Sunday afternoons from 3.30pm - next one is the 25th January from 3.30pm until 6pm.
