Milongeuro Tango Teacher
Christchurch Tango Community New Zealand

Christchurch Tango Community has been fortunate to have had an amazing opportunity to experience the teaching and performances of Walter Gonzalez.
For those of you familiar with the Milongeuro style of Tango you will appreciate how exciting it is to have one of the leading exponents of this dance here with us for an extended period. Walter worked hard with workshops of between 30 and 60 people. With assistance from our local teachers he led us towards a wonderful dance characterised by being at once rhythmic and "cadencioso".
True to his style he focused on demonstrating useful sequences, mastering direction changes, overall skill and improvisation. His method of teaching really was geared toward practical use of space within the dynamic of the dance floor. He made milonga feel achievable by teaching in a way that was coherent and enabled the students to use simple milonga even from their first lesson.
It will be no surprise to hear the very positive feedback and Walter was very patient and worked hard with us.
His instruction was clear and we gained valuable insights to dancing. Walter was a wonderful teacher.
It was a first time for me that a visiting teacher has danced with me. I am still floating from the experience!
He is a great teacher but he also was so generous with his time.
Ive always felt so fearful of milonga, now it feels like a beautiful dance that I want to participate in, thanks Walter.
We so admire his style of dancing and his intuitive and experienced teaching method really worked for us.
